Cupcake user guide for Ultimate Ears earphones

Ue_cupcake_guideI recently picked up a pair of Ultimate Ears super.fi 5 Pro earphones for use on my technology site, Pocketables, and was elated (and surprised) to see this yellow and red cupcake gracing the cover of the included user guide. "Music," it says, "is not an indulgence." Cute!

This is my first pair of Ultimate Ears, so I don't know how long the company has been using the image (it's not their logo). Super.fi isn't the only line whose manual got the cupcake treatment, though, so if your love of cupcakes justifies paying hundreds of dollars (the 5 Pro retails for $250) just to get the manual, then 1) you should be running this site and 2) any of the monitors in the metro.fi or triple.fi series would be fine too.

Plastic cupcake cell phone charms

Cupcake_phone_charm_mgHaving never attached a tiny trinket to my cell phone before, I'm still having trouble imagining that a dangling charm wouldn't get in the way while on a call. Regardless of where the charms hang from the phone, don't they either get in the way or keep you from paying attention to the person on the other line?

If I had something like a cupcake phone charm swinging happily from my phone, I'm sure I'd be too busy playing with the shrink-plastic goodness to listen for which number to press to speak to a customer service representative.

Less easily distracted folk can get a 1" x 1" cupcake in one of six flavors for $6.

Harajuku Lovers cupcake watch

Harajuku_cupcake_watchIt should come as no surprise that this super cute cupcake watch is part of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers, the singer's lower-end clothing line modeled after both her Harajuku Girls entourage and Japan's obsession with all things kawaii (cute).

The watch has plastic bands decorated with sprinkles, hearts, cupcakes, and the "cute as a cupcake" design featured on the face (minus the rhinestones).

This was part of a 2007 collection, so it's no longer available at the Harajuku Lovers online shop. But don't fret! It can still be found at places like The Giant Peach, which lists the light blue variation for $55, and 80s Purple, which has the yellow/orange one on sale for $49.50. Each watch comes with a two-year warranty and is packaged in a collectible tin.
